Día de Muertos is a beautiful, ancient pre-Hispanic Mexican tradition of celebration of life & death.
Death is a natural phase of life’s cycle, and celebrating on this day those who’ve passed on is a way to be close to them & keep them alive.
An ofrenda is an altar created on the last days of October to guide the spirits back to their families & spend time together in this realm. November 1st is when the children’s souls come back & November 2nd is for the adults.
Ofrendas are decorated with flowers, candles, photos, food & drinks that the person liked.
At this time of the year, when the veils between worlds are thin, we come together to honor the spirits of lives past.
Join Lorena for an evening of movement, breath & shamanic journey guided by Mama Cacao to open our hearts in celebration & create a traditional Day the Death altar.
Bring an open heart & mind.
