When the veils between worlds is thin, let's celebrate the lives of those who are no longer with us. Guided by the spirit of Cacao, join Lorena for an afternoon of movement, ceremonial cacao & celebration & experience this ancestral, Mexican tradition. SUNDAY, OCTOBER 31st | 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM | Shala Yoga Squamish ** Must register to attend ** www.shalayoga.ca Dia de Muertos is an ancient pre-Hispanic Mexican tradition of celebration of life & death. In the indigenous vision, death is a natural phase of life’s cycle, and celebrating on this day those who’ve passed on is a way to be close to them & keep them alive. An ofrenda is an altar created on October 31st to guide the spirits back to their families & spend time together in this realm. What to bring: Open mind & open heart A photo of the person you want to celebrate Journal & pen Bowls for cacao will be provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer **COVID Protocols:** • Please do not come if you feel sick, or have been in contact with anyone who might be unwell. You will be refunded These class taks place in the ancestral, unceded territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Nation. We acknowledge with respect the diverse histories and cultures that came before us and are thankful to the Coast Salish peoples for allowing us to meet and learn together on their territory.
